Focus Fued

All for 1!!
Ms. Warner has put together a program for our 3rd graders called "Focus Feud".
The concept is for each third grade class to participate in a large group activity where students will exercise many 21st century skills.  Students are asked to listen and collaborate, inspire one another,  and use brain critical thinking to focus on the task at hand. Once a month, our third grade classes meet collectively to compete against one another for the privilege of wearing the "Focus Feud" necklace.

For the month of December, listening was the focus technique.  Each member of the class was given a different object to pass around a circle, having to listen to directions as to which way they needed to move.  This month Ms Meredith's class took home the "Focus Feud" necklace.  As students learn how to win and loose gracefully, we will continue to work together in an attempt to claim possession of the prize.

  1. Hello!

My name is Emily Hawkins and I am currently working toward getting my masters degree in elementary education at University of Northern Colorado with the hopes of one day teaching elementary school. I live in Parker, CO currently and would love to volunteer at Gold Rush Elementary School if at all possible. I would love to help out in an area that Gold Rush could use me. I am not sure if this is even a possibility, but one of my teacher friends suggested I reach out to the elementary schools in my area to find out.

    Thank you so much,

    Emily Hawkins
